Children’s ministries

One of Living Springs’ core values is “empowering the next generation.” So we provide a lot of opportunities for kids up to 5th grade to gain Bible knowledge, learn social skills, and grow in faith and love. (If you need ministries for kids in 6th grade and older, visit our Youth Ministries page.)

The Springs Kids children’s ministry partners with parents to ensure that their kids are Growing Up in Jesus, by teaching children about Jesus and His love for them. (John 15) We do this by providing Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and other family events.

Sunday School

Springs Kids Sunday School is a place of connection for all children age 2 through 5th grade. Children learn Biblical truths, hide Scripture in their hearts, and find authentic relationships with their teachers and other Springs’ Kids volunteers.

Throughout the school year, children age 2 through 5th grade explore God’s Word through a Bible-based curriculum on Sunday mornings during the 9:00am service. The format includes large-group activity time, Bible verse memorization, music, story time, and small group application and prayer. During June, July, and August, most of our teachers take a much-needed break, so we offer Summer Sunday School at 9:00am ONLY for the 2–5-year-old preschoolers.

As we nurture the faith of the next generation, our hope is that the children develop:

  • A heart of service and compassion out of their deepening love for the Lord. Through intentional teaching and service opportunities we help the children discover, develop, and use their gifts to bless others and build the Kingdom.
  • A deeper engagement in worship. Through invitation and inclusion, Springs Kids learn that they are an important part of worship at Living Springs. Regular engagement in worship provides children with opportunity for the practice to become a choice, which can stir authentic & contagious love for God.

Infant Nursery

When you need a safe and loving place for your children 24 months and younger, bring them to the Living Springs nursery. The nursery is available in Room 120 during both services on Sunday mornings. Our staff and volunteers create a fun, stimulating environment complete with yummy snacks! You’ll receive a pager when you drop your child off, so we can contact you during the service if necessary. You can return the pager when you pick up your child.

Our nursery is stocked with a wide variety of toys, so your child won’t need to bring anything from home (unless it’s a “security” item like a special blanket or pacifier). Please label diaper bags, clothing, and other personal items with the child’s full name—you wouldn’t believe how similar these things look when they are all brought at the same time!

We want to keep all our kids safe and healthy, so we change the bedding in the nursery after each use. In addition, beds and toys are regularly wiped down with a sterilizing solution. You can help us all stay healthy by keeping children at home if they’ve had any of these symptoms in the past 24 hours:

  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Rash or open sores
  • Runny nose (not clear)
  • Cough

If you have questions or suggestions—or if you want to volunteer!—contact Kaila Jackson.
