journey_480“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with questions to guide your reading. To receive each week’s readings in your email, sign up for the Journey blog!

 2 Peter 1

How can we receive more grace and peace?  What is the result of adding knowledge to our goodness and faith?  Why should we be diligent to progress to godliness?  How should we heed the prophetic word of Jesus?

 2 Peter 2

What are destructive doctrines?  Will we recognize false teachers easily?  Why have some teachers gone astray?  What is the liberty that the false teachers promise?  Can those who are following God fall back into their old ways?  What is their condition then?

 2 Peter 3

Is the Lord being slack in his promise of his return?  Is his timetable the same as ours?  Why does the Lord wait so long before his return?  What will happen at the end when the Lord returns?  Since we know this, how should we conduct ourselves and in what should we be diligent?

 1 John 1

What was the message that was given to us by Jesus?  How do we keep fellowship with God?  When does the blood of Jesus cleanse us?  How do we get forgiveness of our sins?

 1 John 2

How do we know if we know Jesus?  By keeping his commandments, what is perfected in us?  If you say you are in Jesus, what should you be doing?  What is the love of the world? How can you abide forever? What anointing from God lets us know all things?  How did some deny Jesus?  Why do we need to abide in the will of God?  How do you know someone is born of Jesus?

  1 John 3

Why do we purify ourselves?  Why can’t a person born of God sin?  How can we show our love for our brother?  How can we judge whether we are in the truth or not?
