Journey readings:
August 29 – September 3, 2016

by Living Springs Community Church on August 26, 2016

journey_480“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with questions to guide your reading. To receive each week’s readings in your email, sign up for the Journey blog!

 1 Peter 1

What must we maintain to be kept by the power of God? Why is our faith tested?  How should we conduct ourselves as we wait for Jesus’ return?  What is God’s commandment for us?  How is God going to judge us?

 1 Peter 2

How should we desire the Word?  What are our spiritual sacrifices?  What example of suffering did Jesus leave for us?

 1 Peter 3

How do we sanctify God in our hearts?  Who are the spirits in prison that Jesus preached to? What is baptism?

 1 Peter 4

How should we spend the remainder of our lives?  Who are the dead that are preached to? Is a righteous person easily saved? What must we do even through suffering and persecution?

 1 Peter 5

How should overseers not serve?  What should overseers not seek?  How should we watch for the devil?  What do our sufferings or trials produce in us?

Of whom are we not to speak evil?  Who ultimately has the power to rebuke the devil?  Who are the wondering stars?  What will happen to them?  How do we keep ourselves in the love  of God?
