The Story:
Discussing Chapter 31

by Living Springs Community Church on July 10, 2016

“The Story” is an opportunity to experience the Bible in its chronological order. The Living Springs family is reading The Story together during the week, and our Sunday messages will help us process and apply what we’ve been reading. If you are in a group or family that is studying The Story together, you can use the questions below to spark discussion.

Chapter 31: The End of Time

Based on Revelation 1–5 and 19–22

  • John becomes a disciple
  • John is exiled on Patmos
  • John writes his revelation

Breaking the ice

When you dream, do you dream about real people and situations, or fantastic, other-worldly stories?

Digging in

The book of Revelation was written to encourage believers in the face of persecution, and to restore hope. That message applies to us today as well.

  1. In your experience, what kind of reputation does the book of Revelation have?
  2. Notice the description of the throne room of heaven (p. 463). What do these images communicate about God?
  3. What kind of encouragement do these images offer for people who are caught in the chaos of today’s world?
  4. What similarities do you see between the story of the original creation (Genesis 1–2) and the description of the new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21–22)?
  5. What impact does it have on you to know the story of the beginning of the world, and to see the story of the end of time?

Pray for renewed hope and for continuing opportunities to share hope with a hurting world.
