journey_480“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with questions to guide your reading. To receive each week’s readings in your email, sign up for the Journey blog!

 Luke 13

What is the meaning of the parable of the fig tree?  What characteristic of the kingdom of God is represented in the parable of the mustard seed?  Why is our gate narrow?  Why will some be upset who thought they were of the kingdom of God?

 Luke 14

What miracle did Jesus do at a Pharisee’s house?  What ‘work’ is allowed on the Sabbath?  What mindset should we have?  What is the universal rule of the humble and the proud?  How do we hate our life and bear our cross?  What should we consider before we follow Jesus?

 Luke 15

Why did Jesus eat with sinners?  Who rejoices in heaven when a sinner repents?  In the parables of the lost son who is it that we sin against first?  How did the son go from dead and lost to alive and found?

 Luke 16

What is the meaning of the unjust steward parable?  What is highly esteemed among men but an abomination to God?  What is the meaning of the rich man and Lazarus?

 Luke 17

What should you fear if you cause someone to sin?  If someone sins against you and repents, what should you do?  What is our expected duty as servants to God?

 Luke 18

What is the meaning of the parable of the widow and the unrighteous judge?  What is the meaning of the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector?  If you sacrifice your desires in life for the sake of the Kingdom of God what will you receive in this present life?  In the time to come?
