journey_480“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with questions to guide your reading. To receive each week’s readings in your email, sign up for the Journey blog!

 1 Corinthians 1

From what source did Paul claim his apostolic authority?  To whom was     I Corinthians written?  For what did Paul thank God?  How does relying on human wisdom affect the message of the cross?

 1 Corinthians 2

Why did Paul come to them in humility and simplicity?  What phrase shows that those who crucified the Lord did it in ignorance?  What have not the  natural senses perceived?

 1 Corinthians 3

Why could not Paul deal with them as mature Christians?  What were three evidences of their carnality?  What seemed to be the two major divisions in the church?

 1 Corinthians 4

Whose judgment really matters?  Why should we “judge nothing before the time”?  Why have we no right to glory in our appearance, abilities, knowledge, etc.?

 1 Corinthians 5

What sin in the church is dealt with in this chapter?  What was the attitude of the Corinthians toward this sin?  What five things did Paul command the Corinthian church to do in relationship to the fornicator that was called a brother?

 1 Corinthians 6

What arguments does Paul use against church members going to court against each other?   Who will not inherit the kingdom of God?  What shows that persons who are guilty of gross immoral sins can be forgiven and set free?
