Journey readings:
September 3 – September 7, 2013

by Jim Tufford on August 30, 2013

“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read at least a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join the Journey? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with some questions to guide your reading. Sign up for the Journey blog, and you’ll receive the weekly reading schedule in your email inbox!

 Leviticus 23

What was the Sabbath?  What was the Feast of the First Fruits?  How many Sabbaths later, after the Feast of the First Fruits, would the people of Israel have the Feast of Weeks?

 Leviticus 24

How long were the lamps outside the veil to burn?  What was the punishment for someone blaspheming God?

 Leviticus 25

How many years did the people sow the land and then let it rest?  What is the Year of Jubilee?  Why did the people not need to worry about not sowing seed in the Sabbath year?

 Leviticus 26

If the people obeyed God, what would they receive?  If the people disobeyed God, what would happen to them?  Would God always warn them when they were disobeying?

 Leviticus 27

What type of vow or oath required the people to pay a valuation to the priest?  What was the amount a person was required to pay back for redeeming his property?
