Journey readings:
July 29 – August 3, 2013

by Living Springs Community Church on July 26, 2013

“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read at least a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join the Journey? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with some questions to guide your reading. Sign up for the Journey blog, and you’ll receive the weekly reading schedule in your email inbox!

 Mark 9

Why would some not taste death until they see the kingdom of God?  Which disciples were with Jesus when He was transfigured on the mountain?  Who spoke to them while on the mountain?

 Mark 10

How are we like children in the kingdom of God? What will we receive in this life when we follow Jesus and the gospel?  What will we receive in the life to come?

 Mark 11

On what did Jesus ride into Jerusalem?  What did the people spread on the ground for Jesus?  What happened to a fig tree that Jesus cursed? What lesson can we take from this?

 Mark 12

How is God the God of the living?  Why was the scribe not far from the kingdom of God?  How was the Christ the Lord and Son of David?

 Mark 13

What did Jesus predict would happen to the temple in Jerusalem?  Why will we be hated by some people?  What must we endure to be saved?  What happens if you don’t endure these things?

 Mark 14

What was Jesus anointed with at  Bethany?  Who anointed Him?  Who would betray Jesus?  At the Lord’s Supper, what did the bread and the wine represent?  What would Peter do before the night was over?
