Journey readings:
July 22 – July 27, 2013

by Living Springs Community Church on July 19, 2013

“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read at least a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join the Journey? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with some questions to guide your reading. Sign up for the Journey blog, and you’ll receive the weekly reading schedule in your email inbox!

 Mark 3

What did the unclean spirits call Jesus?  What name did Jesus give to James and John and what does it mean?  Who is the strong man and what house does Jesus bind?

 Mark 4

What are we to do with the Word?  What is not hidden that will be revealed?  With what measure will we receive understanding of God’s word?  What is taken away from those who do not seek to understand God’s word?  How does the word of God develop in you?

 Mark 5

What was a woman healed of who touched the garment of Jesus?  Whose daughter did Jesus raise from the dead?  Why did Jesus tell them to tell no one about this?

 Mark 6

Why did Jesus do no mighty miracles in his home town?  Who asked for John the Baptist’s death?  Why did Jesus almost pass the disciples by in the boat?  How were the disciples’ hearts hardened?

 Mark 7

Why does food not make you unclean?  What makes us unclean?  What is the difference between the purging of food and the purging of the heart?

 Mark 8

What leaven did Jesus tell His disciples to beware?  How is the healing of the blind man similar to the healing of a sinner?  Why did Jesus regard Satan when He rebuked Peter?  Why does it not profit you to gain the whole world?
