Journey readings:
April 29 – May 4, 2013

by Jim Tufford on April 26, 2013

“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read at least a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join the Journey? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with some questions to guide your reading. Sign up for the Journey blog, and you’ll receive the weekly reading schedule in your email inbox!

 Exodus 13

What did Israel have to give back to God each year?  Why did God not lead the people through the land of the Philistines?  How did God lead them by day or night?

 Exodus 14

When Israel crossed the sea, what condition was the bed of the sea?  When the Egyptians pursued Israel into the sea, what happened to their chariots?  When all the Egyptians were in the middle of the sea, what happened to them?

 Exodus 15

What was the song of Moses about?  What did the people of Israel complain about in the wilderness of Shur?  What happened when Moses threw a tree into the waters?

 Exodus 16

What did Moses tell Israel that God would do for them?  What did God give Israel to satisfy their complaints?  How long did God provide this food for Israel?

 Exodus 17

What did Israel complain about when they were camped at Rephidim?  At the rock in Horeb, what did God provide for Israel? When Israel was fighting the Amalekites, what did Aaron and Hur do for Moses during the battle?

 Exodus 18

Who came to meet Moses in the wilderness?  What good advice did Jethro give to Moses?a
