Journey readings:
April 1 – April 6, 2013

by Jim Tufford on March 28, 2013

“The Journey” is Living Springs’ commitment to read at least a chapter of the Bible every day. We all follow the same reading schedule so that we can encourage each other along the way. And our pastors post occasional blogs about the readings to instruct and inspire us.

Want to join the Journey? This week’s daily readings are listed below, along with some questions to guide your reading. Sign up for the Journey blog, and you’ll receive the weekly reading schedule in your email inbox!

 Genesis 39

Where was Joseph taken as a slave?  Who was his master?  What did Joseph’s master’s wife want from him?  What accusation did the master’s wife bring against Joseph?  Where did Joseph end up because of the accusation?

 Genesis 40

Who was thrown into prison along with Joseph?  What was the meaning of the chief butler’s dream?  What was the meaning of the chief baker’s dream?  Did any of Joseph’s interpretations of dreams come true?

 Genesis 41

How long was it after the chief butler was released that Pharaoh had his dreams?  What was the meaning of his dreams?  What did Joseph recommend Pharaoh do for the next few years?  How high was Joseph’s position to Pharaoh?

 Genesis 42

Who was left behind while Joseph’s ten brothers went to Egypt?  Why?  What did Joseph accuse of his brothers?  Who did Joseph keep behind while the other brothers took the grain back home?

 Genesis 43

When did Jacob decide to let his sons go back to Egypt?  What were the brothers afraid of when Joseph invited them to dinner?  What did Joseph do when he saw Benjamin?  How did Joseph treat Benjamin?

 Genesis 44

What did Joseph tell his steward to put in Benjamin’s sack?  What did Joseph request Benjamin become to him?  What did Judah tell Joseph would be the result of his request?
